CLINIC HISTORY
History of the Gonstead Clinic
From a one-room office in a small Wisconsin farming community,
Clarence S. Gonstead began a chiropractic center of national and international
reputation.
Dr. Gonstead built his first clinic in 1939 on the Main Street in Mt.
Horeb WI. It was at this location his reputation grew to the extent that
other doctors of chiropractic began seeking his expertise.
In 1946, at the request of several doctors, Dr. Gonstead conducted his
first seminar. From this start, his work became known to the doctors across
the country and in chiropractic circles around the world.
Dr. Gonstead began designing one of the largest, most complete chiropractic
clinics in the world with an adjacent inn to lodge patients and chiropractors
coming to the clinic and seminars. Completed in 1964, the clinic of Scandinavian
design covers 19,000 square feet with seating for 106 patients in the
reception area.
The Gonstead Clinic in Mount Horeb stands as a tribute to the doctor’s
hard work and sincere dedication to chiropractic care. When asked the
secret behind his years of success. Dr, Gonstead replied, “No secret-just
lots of satisfied patients.”
